This unique facility is the first of its kind, marking the beginning of a close partnership between BTE and University of the Sciences. In his remarks at the ribbon cutting, BTE President Chuck Wetherington explained "When this opportunity came to us for USciences, it immediately clicked – that this was the right opportunity to really join with somebody. One of the things that we really love about this is we feel like we're catching a rising star – in USciences, and in Samson in particular. We felt like it was such a natural place to go." Speaking to the wider implications, Wetherington added, "This mutual exchange of insights and ideas will help drive continual advancements in patient care and outcomes worldwide."
Commenting on the partnership, USciences President Gerbino exclaimed, "It looks right, and it feels right." Dr. Gerbino continued, "the things we think about are our students' future, and how to provide them with the best education, the best technology, and the best tools – all the things they need to be absolutely successful. We are pleased that the folks at BTE share that vision. This gift – in allowing us to have this laboratory – is astounding for us, but this is really your gift to the students and to their futures, and I want to thank you personally – and tell you how much we appreciate your doing this."
